IGNISTERRA is a company dedicated to the production of Kiln Dried lumber and elaborated products using fine wood, especially Lenga (Nothofagus pumilio), which is a native Chilean species that grows exclusively in the southernmost point of South America. IGNISTERRA owns Lenga forests located in the fascinating regions of Aysén and on the mystic island of Tierra del Fuego. The company possesses mechanized sawmills and kiln dry installations in both regions, and a modern remanufacturing plant located in the central part of Chile, near the Seaports of Valparaiso and San Antonio.

IGNISTERRA has implemented the Latest Generation Technology at their industrial installations, along with their highly skilled - trained employees and quality management system, ISO 9001, which in turn leads to manufacturing and offering high quality products.

LENGA species is known in many countries as Chilean Cherry or Fireland Cherry, due to its similarity in streaks and color, much like American Cherry.
LENGA has a white to yellowish color sapwood and a light to dark pink heartwood.

It is a noble wood and user-friendly for manufacturers, its beautiful grain and tonality is enhanced when stained or varnished.
This is why LENGA wood is preferred by prestigious wood manufacturers worldwide to be used in decorative carpentry, home doors, furnishings and other products that use high valued quality lumber.

Tierra del Fuego

Tierra del Fuego, an island at worlds end, located in the extreme southernmost point of South America.

This distant territory was home to the Selknam culture; known worldwide for the particular designs painted on their bodies, used during certain ritual ceremonies. The name “Tierra del Fuego” was given by Hernando de Magallanes, when crossing the strait that bears his name (Strait of Magellan), due to the number of bonfires that the Selknam culture permanently maintained along the coastline.

Coyhaique

Coyhaique is quite new in terms of citizenship, it is located in the Region of Aysen and it is known for its beautiful and particular geography. In its eastern area you will come across a typical region of Patagonia steppe. In the central part, lying crosswise, are mountain chains, lakes and rivers that make it an ideal place for enthusiastic Fly Fishermen. Finally, to the west, islands and fjords which generate beautiful scenery of channels that flow into the Pacific Ocean.

Valparaíso

Valparaíso was declared a World Heritage Site in 2003 by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest cities in Chile and home of the nation’s legislative branch.

Valparaíso is a city full of nostalgia and it has inherited a history of consecutive immigrations. The city bares witness to this wealth through its heterogeneous architecture colourful homes which hang from hills and ravines, building a natural amphitheatre overlooking the most important commercial seaport of Chile.
